Like all the comments of how ridiculous it would look / be etc etc, still , it will be a winner for the ssh, a bit of embroidery (SSH ,in white of course) on the chest pocket and it becomes an essential bit of kit

Tweeds, I'm beginning to warm to you. I have a vision of you sitting at your computer chuckling away as you cast your rod and catch the unsuspecting, hook line and sinker. BTW SSH already have the embroidered kit etc. Not for me though. A £5 white polo shirt, £20 trousers from the local bowling shop and if it happens to be cold a £12 white nylon zip jacket with fleece lining.

LOL, Tweeds, not sure I could pull off the Daisy Duke look.. The idea of getting my hair extentions, nails done, full tan and I might even go as far as a Brazilian.. but I am thinking more the "wonder woman" look would look better on me as I would get a tiara too... Colours would work better.. PMSL.. Who needs Chav Whites and bling....

HAIR extentions ! now why didnt I think of that, buggar plaits, me 'n' me pony are going for the 'my little pony look' glitter the lot!!! now what colour??do you think they could mix silver, white and gold for me, and as they lump me with the black devil, its black for her wth silver and gold mix, with gold hooves.........to complete the ensemble
ps, not in a million years could I pull off the daisy duke look , but it will amuse the spectators and probably frighten the children, but hey ho - its white ....................ish

Do you think if we did turn up as Daisy and Wonder we would be asked to leave the ring or would we be judged? Well after all it is the horse which should be judged and not the handler? PMSL.....

I got a right telling off for wearing ugg boots(real comfy I might add on my old feet) in the ring , so yes, depending on who you were I am sure that person would be made a public example of - especially if it were me. The thing is I really wouldnt care, its a stupid rule , time the ssh actually woke up smelled the roses and led from the fore , pioneers!!!..........mmmmmmm I doubt it - they should put a forum on their site for maverick sh fans to have a natter in - aye reet lol, brill , perhaps I am that maverick lol

I got a right telling off for wearing ugg boots .. and there was someone last year that the judge refused to judge because it didnt have its tail plaited!!! There are those who have complained bitterly in the past of the cost of affiliation to some of the showing societies .. but the truth is that they have a long established and well supervised and maintained judging panel who have all been assessed adn probationed and know and stick to an established rulebook, all of which costs money. The flip side of the coin is a mish-mash where no-one (competitors or judges) or really don't know what they are doing, worse in many ways than unaffiliated where we all KNOW that anything usually goes

For the welsh panel, you had to have proved yourself with youngstock bred both in the show and sale ring and have judged unaffiliated shows, plus you had to be a member for at least 10 yrs. The nps only accepted breed society panel judges and still took 3 yrs even to get on to the b panel, but that was then and this is now.
Dress code is common sense. no one is going to go to all the touble of turning their horses out to the high standard required without having a little bit of consideration for what they are wearing . Mind I have witnessed some exhibits this year, handler correctly attired, horse could do with being better fed and turned out to say the least , was anything ever said to these people? Right I'm off to ebay to seek out some white uggs, if they have a bit of glitz the better.

Ssssshhhhh.......Don't tell Tweeds..........SSH Foal and Youngstock Show on Saturday!!!! My whites go in the wash tonight!!! Have two foals entered, Stella and Glen, one of which will be shown by a young friend of ours, wearing white but, for safety reasons, she will be wearing a black boot. Photos of the two of them can be found on our website at fairoaksstud.com

North of the Border Foal Show. Mud. Foalies. Whites. Not a good mix. Must go out and buy an extra box of washing powder.
