But Lavender you really want a highland first, one with loads of hair ! How would I cope with all that hair, I'd end up pulling it

Not if we got you one with enough hair, you'd run out of steam.
Have got a pic I must dig out and scan for you, I thought about it earlier.

You could have Jill, Rhummy and me on standby with our oster mane comes and our detangler sprays ! Now how about we try and find you one with a mane like this...... This is a pic of a pony at the highland show in 1964. Damn I cant seem to get the pic any bigger, but you can probably just see that the mane is nearly down to the ground, I have highlighted in red, but pic is too small.

I WANT A FELL...... those ponies never put a foot wrong all day ;D Aw thanks Bangle....I'm touched There is a breeder up your way but I'm not sure if she is still breeding (Ravenscairn prefix) - I bought my first Fell from there, although he had a Lownthwaite prefix.

There are some Fells with serious manes too (although personally I think it is a bit OTT) ---->

Great pics Kermie.
I am another fan of the Lownthwaite ponies, they are super, I had three and they were all lovely ponies.
I would love another fell pony, but have put it off for a while as we were very unlucky with our fells as far as grass sickness was concerned. It was too upsetting, so have decided to wait until we move before I get another one.

Oh my lord, the poor ponies would be blown over if the wind caught in those manes

Grass Sickness is such a terrible disease, we lost a promising young pony to it once Those ponies manes are too long for me to cope with I'd be armed with a pulling comb and thinning scissors, if they were mine I'm struggling to cope with the welsh cob filly's mane that is desperately needing pulled

Who is he, do you know? Lochlands - you need to come and meet all my brood and decide which mare you would like covered!

Kermie I would love to come a meet you and your ponies. Will have to try and organise something once we've seen the back of winter. I really miss the fell ponies, get a wee fix by going down to Lowther, the sale in the Autumn and sometimes the stallion show.
