Guilty and sorry to anyone who I may have upset, wont do it again and must say I had noticed PD changing names and have been making an effort to use the usernames thinking there must have been a reason for it.

My problem is that I still call peeps by their user name when we meet up in real life. Lavender will always be Lav to me

Agree PD - something I try not to do although some of us have had our real names known by all & sundry for such a long time now (can think of Comet & Rhummy here for example). I'm not Kate really but hubby & no 1 & 2 sons' real names really are hubby & no 1 & no 2 ;D

Seriously though I think it's important to be fairly incognito on here as there seem to be a lot instances where lurkers gain membership with the intent of libellous attacks or to use information/quotes (or mis-quotes!) and some of it is quite creepy. Might be an idea to change the member password more frequently and only give it out to those who post frequently on here?

But when we have pics of our ponies on our sig strips kind of gives the game away. So true-in fact thats how I've ended up knowing SSr's at shows- by recognising their horses! ;D

Good idea JennieL. But when we have pics of our ponies on our sig strips kind of gives the game away. I think quite a few of us have been victims of what we have posted and for that reason I do not post a lot on here, I certainly never start a post in general chat where anyone can view it, unless it is fairly banal But we can choose whether to post pics or not & that's a decision we make ourselves - it's rather like giving out someone's phone number or other contact details without their express permission.
