we didnt have a show today or yesterday but as with most mornings we were awake at 5am! a small terrier hitting you on the head with the contents of her toybox is more effective than any alarm clock. dotty is 18 now and has regressed to a state of hyperactivity that does not help our sleep pattern. dogs should get old and sleep a lot! you cant smack an 18 year old lady for becoming a tad confused and attacking cushions and the snoozing border terrier at 3am ! i should be pleased at this new found vitality.......... shouldnt i?!

We have a lurcher with doggy dementia and he too has his hyperactive spells before disappearing into a quiet corner and his own little world. Sadly has to sleep in the kitchen now as he sometimes looses control of his functions!

my vet and i think fern has mild doggy dememntia as she has a bad habit of pacing round in circles and has been seen barking and getting a fright at her own voice! but she is still sane enough to know 5 minutes before hand when dinner is and starts chewing on the sqeakiest toy she can find! its hard seeing them get old but i think you find a new kind of patience with them. i smile fondly when fern has her senior moments although maybe that will change when she starts losing control of her bladder!
