We did 3 Novice tests (N22, N33 & N36) over the weekend at Fountain on Saturday & Sunday . We achieved 62%, 63% & 64% which was good marks considering he very flat, and he just wilted on me in the warm weather. Every test was super, but he went to much on 4hand grrrrr! I pulled the marks up with his super big walks & the fact he is so obedient (got 8 for rein back ect) but he was lumbering along otherwise. I also made some fairly critical mistakes on my test yesterday and got 2 errors of course I learnt the wrong test & didn;t realise it until I came down the centre line! Anyway, onwards & upwards, it is all one big learning experience - the best thing about dressage is the fact that the competition is secondary to your own progress!

Was Somerled, he is coming on so well at home, but I just can't seem to get anything like the same work out him at the competitions, but I do feel it is coming slowly, I certianelty wasn't as nervous as I normally get so I am improving in that department!

PP you beat Lisa in the novice test and she came 7th to your 6th. In the prelim on saturday, she won her first test and was 2nd in the next class. On sunday though in the prelim, she broke the 70% barrier and came first!!!! ;D The girl who didn't think she could do dressage now has a big smile on her face especially as she was also given a best member rosette!!! ;D

Yes I am a bit disappointed I didn't get to do it on Sunday but he was just not firing on all cylinders' I think down to the weather turning so mild. I didn't think it was fair to keep pushing him asI was haivng to get after him just too much. You should of seen him after 1st test on Sunday, tied to back of trailer - eyes closed snoring whilst lorries manovered around him, bless!
