Can anyone advise me on what to do with my 2 coloured yearlings tails for the show ring. Do they need to be pulled / plaited or just left natural?

On a yearling i would just tidy it up around the edges and and bandage it so it lies flat or plait it. I hate plaited tails but i wouldnt properly pull a yearlings tail but thats just me ;D I dont properly oull tails anyway...i cheat

I've got the same debate however mine will be plaited for the evaluations in April Just did the big girls over hte weekend with the tail rake as she wont let me pull it and it looks as good as pulled and less stress

Looks very tidy. Much easier than pulling.

I hated pulling tails as I feel that it is sore coz I would hate getting my hair pulled so Aileen uses thinning scissors and clippers to tidy it up. Must get her to try the rake have heard alot of people talking about it.

I think it would be kinder and less painful on a yearling to tidy up with razor and thinning scissors

I am still undecided about my two year old. I know i should probably pull it but he has had enough new things to deal with recently. Will i get marked down for plaiting the tail? (He's a PB Arab )

How did you do that as am stuck as Saffrons tail really dosen't look like that. Another thing would you pull a mares tail when it lives out?
