My wonder farrier has a thing like a scrunchie, but flatter if you know what I mean. I was also thinking about tubigrip, but try measuring round his fetlock before you go looking!

tights or bands are your answer! Minstrel has masses of feathers and (can we name farriers ? em not sure) used to either use (I assume specialists) bands or ladies tights. Just cut off both ends and they hold feathers high enough.

If you can get a hold of a old tyre inner (the rubber tubing) then cut it up into bands about an inch thick, it retains it's elastic strenght better that a tubigrip!

I do not have a horse with feathers but there is one at my yard who has massive feathers and the farrier uses what lookes like a rubber alice band (hair band) to hold the hair out of the way.

Our traditional irish cob with masses of feathers- when the farrier comes we put tights on his legs(farriers recommendations!) to hold the feathers up and out of the way. You just need like thicker denier and chop the feet and top bit off and there will be enough to do all 4 legs. Cheap and Cheerful!! ;D

my farrier recomemded tubigrip and it works wonders!
it keeps the farrier from stressing about me watching him closely incase he breaks a hair!
my old farrier used to use an inner tube of a tyre, it works but can leave black marks on white feathers!
