HPS is going to hold another breed show next year instead of having a gap year.
They're hoping it will be at Strathallan again.
Date is Sun 8 July.
Eek - open WHP was upto height this year & frightened me to death until I realised it wasn't the class I was entered in ;D

Means I dont get to keep the trophies for 2 years No it is a good idea, I am pleased about and it is something I pressed for while I was on council, so glad to see it has finally happened.

Niamh might actually make this one, if she stops trying to ruin her good looks.

Seems a shame they don't hold the Olympia qualifier at the RHS, as I've said before, the RHS is the showcase for Hippos rather than the breed show, as peeps like me won't go to the breed show Since being a member of the forums (the wonders of the World Wide Web ), I've always made a point of watching the various breeds at the RHS and as last year was a qualifier, I sought out the ridden Highlands in particular

I agree Lav, I love watching the ridden HiPo classes at RHS. I *think* though if its held there that the breed society doesn't have much say over the judge and I have heard that some judging was not particularly liked

I don't see the problem with it- I think every other breed has an Olympia qualifier at their breed show so why shouldn't the Highlands? I think I can guess which judging you are referring to Kermie, and if that is the case then I'm glad it's moved to the breed show to prevent animals like the one I'm thinking of qualifying again (Sorry for the long, garbled sentances, I'm very hungover!)

Ohh I can guess that judge too. I wish it was back at RIHS too , as it gives that special magic element to the hipo classes

But a placing at RHS will still be as prestigious with or without an Olympia qualifier IMO.

Comet I dont really think so as the Olympia Qualifier encourages the really fab Hipos to compete, if there is no Qualifier, sometimes they dont bother

Comet I dont really think so as the Olympia Qualifier encourages the really fab Hipos to compete, if there is no Qualifier, sometimes they dont bother If they are that desperate and only going for the Olympia ticket, they will go to the Breed Show, and if they were true supporters of the highland BREED they would be there anyway.
