OK, in the UNLIKELY event that i make it through to the evening performance, i need some advice! Am i right in thinking, for Arabs, that correct waear would be cream stock, topper (colour?) and navy jacket? I have the stock but not the others, and budget is limited to the extent that it is non-existent! I *think* you can hire toppers for the night, but what about jackets? Or does anyone have a tiny navy jacket i could borrow/hire for the night? Any other advice/things i would need to know? Can't believe its so close

I'm having the same dilemma Kath! I figured I will need a navy jacket at some point *hopefully* so I got one from ebay last week - £70 for a wool one and it's rather nice. I need to get the sleeves altered but that's about it. I've bought a stock, shirt and stock pin so hopefully all I would need to hire is the hat.
My jacket would drown you though!

Hi kath, I can lend you a jacket if it would fit you, hazellou is a very neat 32, you can borrow hers if you want topper should be black and stock any descreet colour, saw some nice pale blue ones there last year, very smart ;D Topper hire lady is very nice, just get there early to hire as they seem to go out very quickly and she does have jackets if you need one

The same as what Kath has outlined for the Arabs. Navy wool jacket, top hat, and stock. I would think black boots would be nicer than brown too.

Your Topper should match your jacket....navy with navy etc. And generally ladies ONLY wear 1/2 tile, the taller ones are for dressage, and men ;D Think Understated elegance, only wear the placing rosettes in championships , never finalists/qualifier ones gloves and show cane are a must ... and if you are into it... glitter is acceptable in an evening perf. Hope you all get there ;D

mmm I thought it would be a navy hat with navy jacket but if black is ok then I may manage to borrow one but it would be a dressage style - would that be ok? - might manage to get a shot of the tail coat to go with it but that would be a bit OTT!!

I think you would be fine with a dressage topper if you can borrow, there were a few at H.O.Y.S wore them last year. All of the toppers i have seen worn have been black . deano.

it would be tempting fate if I was to borrow it - my theroy is go unprepared and then panic if I get through - if I take this one I will not get through - will see if i can get it and that it fits!!
