Hey, so my wee friend Hamish rides my pony Lana, and his Godmother wants to take him into fancy dress classes at some shows this year. We're racking our brains for an outfit and would love some help? Because the only ideas I can come up with are either rude or rubbish...or both! ;D
And on the fancy dress note, whats the best (or funniest) costume you've ever seen or done??
One year my sister was Lois Lane and Lana was 'SuperPony'. That was a pretty cool outfit, Heather even carried a handbag and a newspaper we made up with the headline "SUPERPONY SAVES THE DAY!" It was too cute!

I have done a few fancy dress classes. My 1st one was in 1998 on Lochlands pony Mandy. I was Noddy and Mandy was the car! I then done my 2nd one in 2000 I think it was, again with Mandy but this time I was Little Bo Peep and Mandy was my sheep! And in August just past at the NESHPES show at Duthie Park my little cousin done a fancy dress class with my Rhuaridh. They were Turkish Delight and won the class and also got a trophy for it!

The best we saw was Darth Vader and Chewbacca - the pony even had a chewbacca mask on, it was great!

I did a worst turned out class on Cody and we won! Have to say it was much more fun than a best turned out class.

Worst Turned out - thats a good one! great outfits - wish I could do stuff like that - only time I can do fancy dress is at Christmas - either go as a snowman or a clown (don't need to do much for that one) and put the horse as a christmas tree.

The best one I ever helped with (and we won!) was a bee in a flower bed. Pony covered in a green sheet with lots of paper flowers sewn on, paper flowers attached all over bridle, rider dressed all in black with yellow tape stripes (or a black and yellow stripy top if you can find one?) fairy wings and one of those hairbands with 2 things on springs on it (know what I mean?) attached to the skull cap as antenae! It was fab and so easy to do!
I can tell you how to make paper carnations dead easily if you don't know.....
