I have actually managed to go to a couple of ridden pony parties with Splash. It is a running battle with my nerves due to the confidence issues I have but we went...........
On 18 August we went to the first of show West Kype's dressage league. With a little help from a friend who very kindly rode him around for 5-10 mintues first. I know that it is technically not allowed under BD rules but at the end of the day tey are not working him in for me, just giving me the piece of mind and confidence I need to physically get on
We did Prelim 18 and got a slightly disappointing 62.92% though we did squeeze a 6th (after somebody was made to go HC when it was found that they were ineligible!), we also had a crack at a Novice test for the first time - N28 - we got 65.83 this time and 5th.
10 days later we went to our RC's dressage night, again a friend rode him for 5 mins even though ponio and me were fairly chilled this time. It was P18 again and I wasn't expecting much as the judge doesn't appear to like him very much, we did get 65% and 3rd but we were a disppointing and IMO undeserved distance behind the joint winners. I was however delighted with him as he tried really hard
We missed the September WK as I was still on my holibobs so we headed back for the October one on the 20th. It was a peeing down miserable kind of day but we somehow managed to miss the rain when I was riding! We did P13 and were 5th= out of 29 with 67.5% and then onto N27 which is by far the hardest test we have done, he tried very hard and got 67.86% and 4th BUT the biggest achievement of the day was me getting on and doing every thing from scratch - no crash test dummy!! It was not easy, I was incredibly nervous and I certainly won't guarantee I can do it next time (fear is a horrid, horrid thing) BUT this time I did do it!
