Hello
Hope you don't mind me being on here as I am not from Scotland or Scottish but came on in the first place for some information about a show held in Scotland which we attended.
We breed and show Welsh Sec A's and I pop on here now and again as I find it interesting to read contributions on here.
Hope that's ok ...... my one connection with Scotland however is that one of our homebred ponies lives in Melrose ;D

Thank you both for making me so welcome. Tweeds where abouts in South Yorkshire were you from and what prefix did you breed under? We have been breeding for about 21 years now so our paths probably didn't cross but I bet you know a lot of 'welshie' people I know!! Here's a photo to start......it's my pride and joy....our homebred stallion Owston Ragtime By O. Harlequin (Wilcrick Sandlewood ex Penboeth Yoyo) and out of O. Primrose (Airyhope Ddraig Goch ex O. Pipkin)

Did you get him at fayre oaks this time? he reminds me of a colt I once bought there cascob microlight - he grew too big, but did really well as a youngster, I think i paid £40 for him. I know gwen heppenstall she was one of my good friends, the lockwoods/perrins now , tim waddington, nina clayton and the rest. I gave up many years ago, but was quite impressed a stallion I bred sired the royal welsh champion - good lines never die lol , how is your stallion bred?

Yes, my 10 year old son and my Dad bought him between them.....got their heads together and made a plot lol!! We live not too far from Nina and obviously know all the others you mentioned. I also remember Microlite, think he was on the go when we first started. Where did you live in South Yorks? Here's Owston Golden Sovereign, now sold and adored in his new home in Devon By Criccieth Butch ex O. Ruby

I was in west yorks, geoff ramsden and leonard ben land, I also produced B's for the butterworths when camarge was around, he went to sweden I believe , he was such a sod, I rode him it was the only way I could deal with him, he liked to walk on his hind legs , it was easier on his back lol

Tweeds, I didn't know Geoff Ramsden but I am very good friends with Anne Irving of the Winneydene Stud and I know Geoff used to show Satelite for them. I also vaguely remember Camargue if he was grey??

he was grey, yes I know the irvings, geoff(now deceased) owned revel sabu , satellites sire, its a long time ago...and yes, keep on firing the photos on, put the breeding on too , it makes it so interesting. Danielle waller(wiggins) and her sister leased a lr/fr pony from us , she did well. they breed some nice ponies now as does richard and meirion , heniarth - all blasts from the past,
