Hi there I am new on here. I was thinking about trying some ridden classes with my young horse. I am a total showing novice so any help appreciated. I have shown her in hand in the past a few times to get her out and about. Just in hand horse classes as a yearling, 2 year old and then last year as a 5 year old. I wasnt worried about type just wanted to get her out. I am only looking at local stuff but want to try and fit into the right classes as it is still a lot of time effort and money to go out. She is 15.1hh and too light legged for hunter classes. Her confo isnt perfect but we would only be out for fun anyway. She was a bit overweight in the pic and is a little slimmer now This is her ridden at home Thank you very much in advance.

I think she would fit quite nicely into a RH class she looks lovely - another ginger fan here K xx

Thank you What is the correct turnout of horse for RH classes then? Her tail is already pulled and trimmed short as she rubbed it in stable Think my saddle will be OK its a GPD, what about bridle, coloured or plain browband ( need a new one anyway only have an old one)?

I would give it a go in both small Riding Horse classes and Small Hunter classes, for me she's a bit in between, and if only going local then I would do the two!

Thanks for all the replys I thought she would be too light legged for hunter, must actually measure her legs. She probably is, but she lacks that bit of quality (sorry! Hope I don't offend by saying that!) to be a RH, that's why I said she's more an inbetween If only local, then I don't see the harm in doing both, then you will get an idea of what she is like against the rest and also get judges opinions It's practically the same attire, tweed for you, plain bridle for horse, with just a change into a fancy browband for a riding horse ;D

Way of going counts ALOT
