I havnt taken my 3 yr old arab filly Saffia to any shows this year as her winter rug rubbed about 6" of mane out (in the middle under the neck cover) because last year (when a different rug did the same although less) she got marked down for it. I have her entered for the Black Isle the first week in August, but question is, do I bother taking her? Im not worried about experience as she got out to lots last year, and it would be a shame to take her out when it looks so crap! its still only about 3" long... What should I do?

I have seen loads out this year with large bits of mane missing. Think its the flies. I would probably go if its not too bad.

I would take her as I have also seen heaps of horses out with rubbed manes and being placed above horses with full manes
