Well i know what my wee Shetlands will be wearing and i thought for local level i'd wear brown boots short, trousers beige/olive ?? shirt & hacking jacket or waistcoat, Hat for me do i need one ? someone told me light colour trousers dark horses and vice versa for white horses but i've one of each...!! thats horses one chestnut standard colt and a skewbald mini shetland colt also got a bay mini too but may not show him he's 3 & needs to be gelded..!! Any help wouldn't go a miss....!! lol

Sounds ok what you have sugessted- don't need a hat but could wear a tweed cap or beagler - hair tied back or tidy. some producers say the thing about coloured trousers against horses legs- really at local level it will make no difference -just go out and enjoy yourself thats what will count

Thanks for that Half way there...!! Been getting the ponies used to allsorts when out on our walks round the village encluding trotting inhand but i know it can go belly up on the day of our shows just have to smile get on with it eh...!! ;D

I show all of my shets in beige trousers and I have blacks, chestnuts and a grey. If you don't want to go light coloured go for navy trousers or a tartan skirt. I also don't wear a hat, my hair is tied back in a bun with a bow clip that goes with my jacket. So long as you are neat and smart and yourself and the pony are well presented you will be fine.
