Did anyone go, it looked impressive prizemoney? what about the auction of selected horses , the ssh never gave a list of entries, so I presume it never took place .

I went along with PD! It was quite enjoyable to watch, as it's not something I would normally watch I couldn't really follow the criteria though, as I didn't really agree with everything in the line up!! I don't think the sale went ahead, but we only stayed for the pony section!

As Lavender says, we went along ;D I took Jerry, my 153cm coloured out of Jemima. He was a star he had never been in a trailer before and traveled really well, and was very good to get ready and plait consider he hadn't been anyway since the Highland in '09. He had only had 3 practice loose jumps at home, but although he was a wee bit spooky down the lane the first time, he then jumped really, really well - I was so proud of him He was placed 5th with the top 5 marks being really quite close and one of the judges was very complimentary and even said when I was picking up his passport afterwards that he had phoned his wife about him! I wouldn't have taken anything else home with me instead of him and am well aware that his jump was probably too 'WHP/event' for the judges who were both show jumpers. It was a much better competition than last year and a great improvement to have a day of their own rather than tagging on to the end of a BSJA show and running too late at night. It seemed to run pretty smoothly although I know that the SSH Chairman resigned during the week so Tweetie Nimmo stepped in at short notice to oversee it. As Lav says, we didn't see anything of any sale and they were just about set to start the Horses when we left so don't think they had any entries for the sale. ...... oh, and I was approached by someone who is quite keen to take Jerry on for ridden classes for 2011, so really quite exciting and now need to get organised and start lunging him

Mmm thats interesting PD. I was booked as the photographer for this event, but they cancelled after they had had a comittee meeting and had decided to have someone there that would video each horse ?

Mmm thats interesting PD. I was booked as the photographer for this event, but they cancelled after they had had a comittee meeting and had decided to have someone there that would video each horse ? Pam Scott was there taking video but although she states on her website that she offers a new video service I have no idea how we get hold of them, view before we buy or buy the footage of our own horses ETA: sian, I think this type of event could actually do with coverage from 2 photographers, as they go down the lane in a way that 2 angles would actually be very good, although I know that a side-on shot shows more movement which is not easy with the lack of light.
