I'm 14.23 and 14.44 on Sunday. Will try to pop over for a nosey on Saturday but got the SWPCA AGM on Sat night and my mum's 80th birthday party tonight!! Can't believe some of the people who are doing the walk/trot test. Really taking the p*ss. One horse has done at least two full show seasons.

How did people get on today? I withdrew my entry mid week as I simply haven't had the time to do much with him (plus he needs a new saddle).

My friend was in the walk and trot test, she was so please as it was only her third attempt at doing the test. She got almost 63%. She is now going to try and do a prelim next time. ;D

Well done V. Glad to see people moving up a level. I noticed a few were entered who have been doing the tests for a while Think Jumps should be bringing in a rule ie neither horse or rider to have won a dressage test to stop this happening. Anyway we went today and his lordship was in the Elem 44 - he had a wee jog in the free walk And shock and horror we were in the Medium ;D ;D Really pleased but still need to est the laterals a bit more - and I managed the Medium trot sitting!! Thats us all qualified for the Rowallan/Scottish Farmer finals next year

Well done P that is fab. Who was the Judge today? yesterday it was Lynne Taurgh and she was very good with my friend and explained where she should consider going now. I really like it when the judges can give you some feedback.
I am hoping to get Dante back out at the prelim and novice level by the start of the new year to try and qualify for the scottish farmer but i will not be going to Jumps as he pulled a tendon there 3 years ago.

It was Lady Mary Hope. She is excellent and even when bits are not so good she remains positive and constructive with her comments!! Kenco was getting a bit strong as the surface is very deep, so he gets faster and heavier in my hand - struggled to keep him up in the changes. Only really went so that I could have a try at the Medium. Ingliston is excellent!!
How many points do you have?

Just do the novice. Personally I feel that it is a good thing re the points. Stops people competing below their level. I started out at Aff Elem - must have been mad but he works so much better in the double. I think we only done one Novice. When I Aff his wee sister she will need to do open classes due to my rider group - crazy because if Carly rides her she will be Rest and if I were to ride her in a different class on the same day she would need to be open!! Can see it from both sides though and does make sense that both rider and horses are grouped accordingly.

I just wanted to bring him back gently by doing a couple of prelims and I thought that this would have been a better way especially as we are still only walking May be setting my sights to far to do Novice but I may be just 'wrapping him up in cotton wool' at the moment as he does goe out in the field with the others and gallop about like an idiot

You can do prelims just not a RSF qualifier. TBH there isn't that much of a difference between the two just show some med trot/canter and maybe a few more transitions.

I will just need to wait and see how he goes, just dying to get back out after having a year away from dressage comps with him. Hopefully see you at some shows. ;D Oooops, sorry for hi-jacking(SP) the thread
