thanks for all the replys folks i would have preferred to share and pay to wards diesel and other costs but i appreciate that rules and regulations regarding transporting horses have changed and not everyone is keen to share there trailer or lorry with a complete stranger.I totally agree that £200 is probably not a lot to hire a small lorry for the highland but when you dont have it pay then it might as well be a thousand.I have decided not to stress about it anymore and am just going to watch,to everyone who offered a lift and places and numbers to contact many many thanks. My OH has promised me a 3.5 ton lorry next year so will wait till then,i hope all you nice folks who are going to the highland have a great and successful show x

Do you not livery anywhere or have any horsey friends near by. I know how expensive it is if you have entered a class. Last time i tried to go and couldn't get i lost the cost of my entry, stabling, lost the deposit i paid on additional stabling at a wee livery yard so i could visit my grandad and enjoy more of the show, had a huge cancellation fee for the horse vehicle, then i still drove down to watch and sat dissapointed as my class went in so still paid for fuel going down, PARKING!!! I tried using my light horse float pass but i still had to pay £5.00
It's just such a shame that you can't get, are you in a riding club? Have you tried any riding clubs? Don't be disheartnened yet, keep trying, i'm sure someone could give you a lift
I'm not entered and at the wrong end of the country i'm afraid

do you not have a horsey friend who would help you out in return for a day at the show and some nice lunch. hated it when we didnt have our own transport even though YO does transporting, its rotten relying on others
