Yesterday, i think i had one of the most traumatic days of my life No, not the Clinic that went v well - the only part of the day that did
Well, monster hangover didn't help Yeah Katie that champagne was NOT a good idea on top of red wine, followed by cocktails
Then nasty Arab wouldn't load ......windscreen got chipped on journey down to Devon . Clinic was brilliant though, had one of the most useful lessons for a long time . Nasty Arab not sure about loading again on way home, but better.
However, coming up to Dundee we hit the roadworks, which necessitated quick braking on Mum's part to avoid accident. Obviously poor old Flash had been having a snooze - mega noises coming from the back Now he is usually a great traveller, but this got to him - probably not helped by being a tired and hot horse. Still mega noises coming, so i go through to see them to find him thrashing around, ahlf lying down Poor lad was trying to lean against the partition but his hindlegs kept slipping down. I held him up as best i could going through Dundee, and when we got to the other side and he was no better we decided to stop before he went right over. So called our vet to see if they could recommend a local one to come out and help. I won't bore you with all the details, but nice nice Kirriemuir vet Arthur came to our rescue, and having sedated Flash (to no effect ) we decided our best bet was to stable nearby over night, so another nice nice man in Kirrimuir put up the two lads. Flash was soaked in sweat, and had gashed his back legs (luckily not too badly) and looked like a rescue case.
Picked them up today, absolutely pooing myself as to how we were going to get home....travelled like an old pro Absolutely no bother - obviously the night's rest had done wonders.
Sorry for the marathon post, but i hope to never go through that again, and i hope you don't either. I know now how Deano feels I ache all over, which i'm putting down to holding Flash up for 20 minutes by his headcollar, rather than all the work Erik made me do I'm just so thankful he travelled home ok hope this hasn't had lasting effects - except on the lorry...
