well what fun we had - not yuck weather for starters - headed over to benisastar to get mucked out etc loaded up peter for her turning the lorry -it stalled, strange but never mind - got to the end of the road stalled again when sitting with my foot on the clutch - drove off donna called her hubby and we were told turn back. he and dad had a look and one of the clutch hoses was burst - peter put back out in field i set about tidying up the lorry (really needed) dale (donna's oh) called his mate next door and he had a hose in his garage brand new - dale fitted the hose and an hour or so later - lorry fixed so i had no excuse now - got him in brushed plaited etc and headed off to do our first Medium tests (my first and his first too - blind leading the blind!) - he coped ok since neither of us are really ready for this level we got 55.2 in M63 and 56. in M71 - well i have done it not sure if i will do it again sorry benisastar for you not getting over and please thank your dad for fixing the lorry. relaxing now with some cider

I giggled my way through it - got a few 7's in both tests but the dreaded half pass let us down - dropped to 3-5 for them - didn't help that in the canter ones i put my leg too far back and on too strong and he bucked!! he got good marks for his collected canters though and this is one of the things he has struggled with - just needs to build it up a bit now. the 2nd judge said to me after - he has come a long way I remember him when he wouldn't go into the areanas and would run backwards - she did say that he found M71 hard and to do an elem & a med - but think I will stick to elms for a while

Well done Fred, I think you should push your self & do one elem & one medium form now on - at unafil at least. Now you have done your first 2 you know what to work on for next time. You got good marks, only 5% from 60% - so think positive & push yourselves because I think you both look more than capable of doing this, you just need more belief in yourself & definetly don't think you are not ready, just practice!

Grrrr! stop saying this!!!!! you are more than blooming capable - tell her Benistar! - lots and lots of riders with far far less experience than you have made it to PSG, so don't dump yourself down please!

Ooh - well done & your marks were more than respectable for a first attempt, especially if you made him buck ;D
Who were the judges?

the first one was stephen cruicikshank and the 2nd julie rankin - so both listed judges pp - think i will stick with elems for a while at least and practice at home and lessons. but i do think he would be better with someone else on him - i panic a bit - i am not a dressage person just seemed to have got into it a bit with him - looking forward to the jumping next weekend though

just need to find a decent rider if he is going to do this sort of stuff - it is a bit much for me i think! I am in exactly the same boat as you!!! It is b****y hard trying to learn new party tricks without being sat on a pony that does not know it either. Blind leading the blind and all that - you will get there, in fact you already have. You have done two tests and you certainly did not disgrace yourself - keep at it. I maybe would think about doing an Elem first though - take the pressure off you both?
