We tend to paint the varnish on our coloured horses hooves in black

My old blacksmith suggested I used Vaseline on my grey's feet - and it seems to stay on pretty well! She has two light feet and two black feet and it shines up both pretty well...

I worked for one of scotlands top producers and they had a coloured with a twisted front leg . . . anyway they always blackened the hooves to try and create an ilusion that it wasnt twisted. It won the royal international so I would guess your allowed. It definately looked far better.

Im afraid Im with Kermie on this. I think that blackened feet look ridiculous against white legs and you end up all your eye is drawn to the feet. This is just my opinion though.

i was advised not to colour them but i personally think it looks better but its up to Judge! i really good one i use now is Gold Lable Clearer than clear then Lynne Russle quick gloss nice and shiney

I blacken everything hooves! But I think its just personal opinion! ;D
They do say not to on coloureds.........but I've never had it remarked on in the ring! ;D So I guess its ok!

Down here we always use clear on the coloured horses. ...well if it's good enough for the coloured champion at HOYS then it's good enough for me Still using absorbine?

i dnt put anything on jack as his hair covers his hooves, so i think its wasted on him

We were told to never colour coloured hooves but on some horses i find they suit it and pefere it on some horses!
