Only problem with showshine buffer sponges is that they're full of silicone and will make saddles and reins very slippy

I never knew that. I usually just used it on the noseband and browband, am far too lazy too clean my reins properly.....oops
I like the CDM stuff for my saddle as it keeps it slightly sticky so you dont slip around too much

If you use too much URAD then it will make tack sticky, but if you just use a tiny bit plus a lot of elbow grease then it will work wonders. Its also great for keeping tack waterproof (obviously only to an extent!) so I love it because I only have the one saddle.

I make my own "saddle soap". I melt a bar of saddle soap and add to a pan of milk and another "secret ingredient" and boil it. Makes a lovely creamy soap which cleans very well and leaves a cracking shine ;D

Just remember with the Urad, Don't use it on the seat of your saddle as from my past experience it's your bottom which does more of the polishing - forget elbow grease.
