I've been using a product called De-Matt and it is really good. Unlike Mane & Tail spray it doesn't contain alcohol which eventually dries the hair and makes it brittle. The De-matt even works for those dreadlocks that my ponies get in their manes - a few squirts and my fingers then can work their magic.

Best one i've used is 4horse mane and tail detangler, it smells lovely and is the most effective i've come across - just spray it on, leave for a few minutes, and all tangles brush out easily!

I bought a skooshy bottle of this mane and til conditioner/green stain remover in one stuff- I think it's Gold Label who make it and it's brilliant for getting Comet's mane detangled AND clean(ish). Under £4 a bottle too although I do go through a lot of it.
Only downside is that is smells of old ladies.

I use a small amount of baby oil in the tail it makes the brushing easier and gives a good shine .

I use Coat Shine and Baby Oil. Coat shine during competitions and a little baby oil in between, seems to keep their hair a bit more moisturised - and WAY easier to comb out my natives tails.

Ooh are they online. Kims mane at its longest point is on her cannon bone so I'm really careful what I put on that it hasn't seen a brush since November

Yup thats the one thanks, have you tried any of their other products? I'm constantly looking for an alternative show sheen. Alva is the only one I have really liked so far but works out very pricey for so many ponies

I use a lot of the Peasridge stuff - it works out as fairly economical because you can buy such large bottles and it is very concentrated. I obviously didn't show you my beauty salon when you were here - next time
