Do you use them on your horse and do you find they make a difference?

I recently won an equi ami, before that all I had used was side reins. I have never been keen on the pessoa type things as they seemed to jab them in the mouth a little bit, but the equi ami seems so far to be quite good, he cannot act the goat in it and it encourages him to work correctly whilst not forcing it.
So far the result is currently still working with it, so its not a no! Sorry that was probably so unhelpful!?

I am an anti-gadget zealot by my own admission - even the sight of a flash noseband incorrectly fitted ( and you see a lot of it ) can make me pass out, however - with my old fella who had suffered a severe back injury as a foal it was suggested I tried a Pessoa - it took me a while to fit it correctly ( with help) and it was a godsend for him. I only used it on the lowest setting and it helped me keep him working and supple - if I hadn't used it he would have been a field ornament for much longer than he was. . The only gadget I use nowadays is a granny strap
