Welcome to the forum Wendy, but can I ask you to please change your user name as The Show Ring is what we all know as The Show Ring, a respected and long established forum that many of us are also members of.
To save confusion maybe use your full name.

As you seem to have some considerable clout with Grandstand Media, the best and biggestthing you could do for Scotland would be to help reinstate some of ours HOYS qualifiers and prove that GM is not just paving qualifiers for the biggest entries and levies but will recognise the quality of Scottish owned/produced/qualified horses and ponies. This year alone the Champion Cob is produced in Scotland, the Champion M&M is Scottish owned and there were other Scottish horses and ponies who were awarded very high placings.
Bigger classes don't always mean higher quality, some exceptional HOYS winners have come from Scotland over the years and we have lost more and more qualifiers over the years under the excuse of 'quality' when we all know the real reason is GM's need for more and more Levy money.
Prove this wrong Showing Register by helping us get or qualifiers back

Hi puddle dub
Wendy thought I should say something on this ... It is a mighty challenge indeed ! When we meet in Scotland lets talk about it some more I am only just beginning to understand Scotland's unique logistical challenges and I hope to get up to see everyone when we run some events

It would be great if something could be done. I only enter the 2 Scottish HOYS qualifiers each year as I don't have the time to head down south.

Now you have done introductions, we should maybe take any further discussion onto the General Board so you can increase your post count as once you get that to 20 you will have access to all boards including shows etc which will be more use to you. (posts on this board don't increase your count as you will have noticed)
