Of sorts anyway...
I took brave pills during the week and entered for Greenfields today. Our RC has been a no show so far for schooling nights which would have been an ideal social outing for Splosh but it was not to be so I entered a test figuring it was £9 for arena hire if nothing else.....
I picked somewhere nice n local and more importantly quiet to take him so off we pottered this morning.
I led him around the indoor which was interesting, a few vertical take offs......
Then lunged him in the outdoor - looking very "bright" about the whole thing. Got asked to take him out of there as other folk had come in to ride but they said I could go into the field which I did.
I was then very brave and got on...... Took him into the outdoor again and let him see everything and walked for ages to let him settle and then worked away in trot and our very baby canter.
Then it was back into the indoor - a lot less scary once you have been lunged and ridden, a good walk about and then a wee trot and then we did P10 ;D
Numpty heid here went wrong, twice Sooooo not like me but I was stressed.
Anyhoo he did the whole test (plus extra bits.....) with no fuss and tried his wee heart out. I was chuffed to bits with him, very clever boy.
The sheet was immaterial as it was all about the experience which was just as well as the judge didn't have a good thing to say or mark to give - it's just as well I have my head screwed on right and know that he made a very good account of himself if green. Someone else could quite easily give up with a sheet like that. I know he did a far better effort than that sheet made out. Needles to say it is in the recycle bin!!
So today we have gone to a pony party, worked with other horses and by himself again, seen a strange indoor, outdoor and field and had a mighty fine crack at a not so easy first time test.
;D ;D ;D
(that was my scary activity from the wekend thread!)
