Very nice Interesting how different the coat patterns are on either side of the atlantic! I will post some of my coloureds to compare sometime. I would say your hunter is more of a Riding Horse stamp over here - even our lightweight hunters tend to have more bone, but if you are bringing him over you would obviously also have our very popular 'Coloured' classes to compete in. We tend to bang (cut straight across) our tails at just below hock height and also pull the top. ........ what is the saying? we are 2 nations divided by a single language? It is amazing how the brits and yanks are so similar and yet so different!! Are you planning on bringing your two over with you? Incidently, the top stallion is very, very similar to one called Sonny Steele that one of our top studs imported to stand a few years ago.

Well thankfully you didnt gross out on them ,,,these are all just overo's in the coat pattern,, I dont have any tobianos ,, which I like, I just dont have yes we are going to try to go ahead with bringing them,, the dutchman is very sensitive like that, plus my step daughter competes in dressage in NL and she has wanted one of my big tall colts forever.. My husband just slowly realized America was not what he had thought it was / saw it was on TV/ movies .. That it was not easy nor the land of dreams he thought it was. He is shocked at what he has seen . thank fully he has a profession otherwise i dont think he would have been able to make it this far. My mare and the rest are all Sonny Dee Bar Bred ,,only the stallion on the top is not .. the mare is by an APHA ch/ and world Ch Sonnys LuckyChance and out of a daughter of the great Red Sonny Dee... the bay who is the sire to my hunter is also an APHA Ch, -Dazzle and Shine .. the the stallion on the top is ancient old Captain Midnight ,, he is APHA all the way back ,, no AQHA ,, and has sired so many great show horses English and western... he is old so I had to be approved this year and she made it in so I am going to take advantage of it Dazzle is bigger than what the pic with my husband shows but he is also just in pasture condition too ...( please gently tell me what a riding horse stamp is ,, I am embarrassed that I dont know ).. I have a longtime girlfriend in Cheltenham that teases me about a yank ,, because I am so proud of my rebel heritage lol some of my Dutch relatives do too... I live on an island in the deepest part of south tx.. no grass ,, all sand and heat up to 114 f and down to 0 f sometimes, a giant extreme .. but no I have only lived in the Netherlands - cold/rain/snowy gray ,,, and I do have to put on more than a coat lol oh yeah and wear real shoes .... My mother in law puts so many clothes on me i can hardly move .. sometimes I had to wear something on my arms in July even . I have a link for you to look at ,, this is where I and my daughter train ,, I would put it in the links section but I dont think would be of any actuall use ,, just something different for you all to look at ... www.reidbthomas.com/Thomas_Performance_Horses.htmlLook at the winners section,, that gives you a good idea of what is expected of us both english and western in the BREED shows not the regular Hunter/jumper shows . For regular working hunters with all breeds I have to look like this ,, ( or at least try to ) www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fyd6VNxwf0believe it or not that could be a W/B a Quarter horse or a heavier American Thoroughbred ,, the breeding is so tough you sometimes can't tell anymore if they are really high quality ... Dazzle looks like a cactus out there with my husband lol he is NOT in show shape . Fake tails are used in breed shows almost always now ,, regular H/J hardlyy ever ,,maybe a switch but that is it ,,like if it is really thin or a colt has eaten it .

I just love those big heavyweight hunters ,,, MY DWB was like the lightest one ,, those would be a relief ,, so comfy ,, I dont think it is going off topic,, you are helping me see if I can find a place for myself .. I am a HORRIBLE dressage rider so I needed to see what I could do with what I have ,, Dazzle and my American Tb are over fences horses but can do lots of things if they couldnt compete like that

If your horses are jumping horses you could always have a try at what we call Working Hunter over here. In most working hunter classes you go over a course of natural fences and then you are judged on the flat ridden, you also strip for the judge and do a run up. I'm sure someone could pop up a picture of working hunter to show you. If you get your posts up by posting in the general area you will gain access to the members area in which you will find lots of pictures of our lovely horses and there are some fabulous pictures of Puddledubs lovely coloured mare doing working hunter with another one of the members on here.

See and I am so jealous ,, I am just a tobiano freak ,,, and I just dont happen to have any .. no reason really ... it is just how it is for now .. my mare with the little girl on her left saturday for her date with the top stallion ,,, The only ting I ever worry about with overo to overo is lethal white syndrome,, but I just couldnt find a tobi with what I needed close by, sz, bloodline, show records price etc .. ( within 500 miles ) I live way at the botton of Texas

I can certainly do that ,,, we used to do it that way if the show was held at someones farm instead of a formal show facility ,, I would have n oproblem with that at all .. I also saw that the UK paint Assoc is quite busy in the UK,,, very busy ,,which is a good thing for my western horses.
