Well, off to Jumps this week to do the warm up and qualifier prelim class for Scottish Farmer finals. Had hoped it might be quiet but both classes had decent numbers After an awful week when Dom and I seemed to have completely different ideas about what constituted being off the leg and light in hand, I arrived with the kind of feeling that this was all going to go belly up! Have really only just started out with dressage properly since the summer and still learning the ropes. The class was running early and so without doing my canter warm up I was called in.... Going is pretty deep and took me and Dom a while to get used to. Went to warm up inside the arena (didn't realise I wasn't allowed ), broke a canter, did the wrong finish to the test so had to do again and lost marks, aaand stepped on the boards Hmmm didn't go too well... Still.. managed to get 61.5% which could have been alot worse. After a pep talk, and some aherm.. minor adjustments to my tack from Penllys, Dom and I put it behind us and got on with the job in hand. Despite the judge accidentally tooting her horn in my test which threw me and I had to stop and re-start my last movements, we put in a much better performance and managed to score 68.3% and finish so have qualified for the scottish farmer final at rowallan. Thanks P Can't believe we managed to do it, thought it might take a few attempts, but now need to really get some hard work done! Phew, stressage is definately an appropriate name!
