Sure you all know how much hassle I've been going through for months now re saddles and how for 7 weeks all I've been able to do is bareback and lunge work Well borrowed an Isabell Werth this morning (not for us though ) and off we went to dressage. I had entered the novice and an elementary as had been working towards elementary before the saddle saga but what with time off etc just wasn't sure what level he was capable of. Novice was okay, nice and forward and relaxed but I thought he could have been rounder and could have gone a lot better.......... judge obviously liked it though as we came 1st with 65.4% (not big entries, only 6 in class). Into elementary, fairly hard one E50 with lots of collected canter work, which although he did, it was a bit laboured so only 55.1% - however at least it's made me realise that we will stick with the novice once we get saddle sorted out as he need to have more power for the elementary. I've plenty time with him, as he's only 8 and will just move him up when I feel he is capable Was pretty pleased considering I'd never ridden in that saddle until the novice test like - but found it too wide for me but much better than the Albion At least I have tried all the options so it's defo M2M now ;D So fingers crossed in 4 weeks time with new M2M saddle we will be able to get out there again (sure you will all be glad as you must be as sick about hearing it all as I am )

Veeeeery good results OM - well done! I am sure once you are back working in your usual routine with new saddle that you are both more than capable of good results in elementary.
Shame about the isabell as it would be good for Toby if he tends to change shape.
But M2M sounds fab ;D

What make of saddle are you going to go for? I'm going for a Heritage dressage saddle - as Penllys has one and she very kindly sent me the piccies and it's the sort of saddle I'm after. I'm going for a new one that he has just designed and he's making it to fit Toby and also adding any extras I want for no added cost - so I'm going for the full works of extra deep seat, giant blocks, stirrup bars further back etc etc Can't wait ! Oh and it's a great price too, so much so that I will probably get it converted to Flair at the start of the year as well so that should help if Tobster does decide to change shape (AGAIN)
